It can be overwhelming in a place like this so we'll give our personal take on what you should try, where you should visit and show who's standing out in the bushes world.
It takes everyone's support when it comes to being a business owner and it's why we plan to feature as many as we can and from all parts of Texas.
When Texas declared its independence from Mexico in 1836, it wasn’t just staking its claim to land—it was forging an identity rooted in resilience, opportunity, and bold ambition. Nearly two centuries later, that same spirit has transformed Texas from a frontier republic into one of the most powerful economic and cultural forces in the United States.
Today, Texas is more than just a place—it’s a brand. It's a symbol of independence, innovation, and possibility. From oil-rich plains to tech-powered cities, Texas continues to redefine what it means to be an American success story.
Texas’s journey begins with revolution. After breaking away from Mexico in a series of bloody battles, the Republic of Texas was born in 1836. For nearly a decade, it functioned as its own nation, complete with a president, army, and currency. This brief experiment in sovereignty cemented the Texas attitude of self-reliance and fierce independence—a mindset that still drives the state's politics and culture.
When Texas joined the United States in 1845, it did so not as a conquered land, but as a proud and self-governing republic. That legacy is still evident in everything from the state’s iconic "Lone Star" flag to its outsized influence on national policy.
At the turn of the 20th century, a gusher of black gold changed everything. The discovery of oil at Spindletop in 1901 launched an economic boom that put Texas on the global energy map. Overnight, towns transformed into booming cities, and industries sprang up to meet the demands of a rapidly growing nation.
But oil was just one piece of the puzzle. Texas was already thriving off cattle ranching and railroads, industries that connected the state to markets across the country. Cowboys and cattle drives may now be romanticized in pop culture, but they played a vital role in shaping the economy and values of the region—hard work, entrepreneurship, and rugged independence.
Fast forward to the 21st century, and Texas is experiencing another boom—this time, in tech, energy, and finance.
With no state income tax, relatively low cost of living, and a business-friendly regulatory climate, Texas has become a magnet for companies and individuals looking to build something big.
The Texas dream is alive and well—and increasingly diverse. People from across the U.S. and around the world are relocating to Texas in search of better opportunities, space to grow, and a better quality of life.
For entrepreneurs, the state offers fertile ground to launch businesses with lower overhead and a massive customer base. For families, it’s a place to buy a home, raise children, and plant long-term roots. For creatives and innovators, Texas offers a unique blend of culture and freedom—where big ideas are welcomed with open arms.
Beyond economics, Texas punches above its weight in culture. The world knows its barbecue, music, football, and fashion. From the Texas State Fair to SXSW, from Friday night lights to high fashion in Houston, the state’s cultural influence reaches far beyond its borders.
And the Texas identity remains distinct. It’s confident, sometimes brash, always proud. It’s a place where people still believe in shaking hands, working hard, and dreaming big.
Texas isn’t without its challenges. Rapid growth has put pressure on housing markets, public infrastructure, and energy grids. Climate issues, urban sprawl, and political divides also loom large.
But true to its nature, Texas is responding with action. The state is investing in renewable energy at a surprising pace—now leading the nation in wind power and growing its solar capacity. Cities are modernizing public transit, expanding broadband, and diversifying their economies.
As Texas continues to evolve, it’s clear that its best days may still lie ahead.
From its days as a breakaway republic to its current status as a global economic leader, Texas has never followed the crowd—it’s led the way. With boldness, resilience, and relentless ambition, it continues to define the future of America.
Whether you're looking to relocate, invest, or simply understand what makes the Lone Star State shine so bright, one thing is clear:
Texas isn’t just part of the story of America—it's writing the next chapter.
